Energy-Efficient Systems for Any Climate

Operational simplicity, efficiencies, initial cost and environmental impact are key considerations in HVAC system design and selection. From a beachfront condo tower to a hospital in the Alaskan tundra, TLC engineers start the design process with a clear understanding of the exterior climate your building must withstand and its potential impact on the construction process and final structure.

We also consider the building’s impact on the surrounding environment. Our energy models allow TLC engineers to quickly calculate these factors and evaluate various heating and cooling solutions to achieve the best possible and most efficient results.

Using Revit and BIM technology, TLC designs systems that realize your vision while producing design documentation that is well coordinated and successfully executed.

Efficient-Electrical Engineering

TLC specializes in designing electrical systems that provide dependable, efficient, high-quality power. Proper lighting design, starting with daylight modeling and device selection, increases user efficiency, provides building safety and regulates power requirements and utility costs.  Our electrical systems are designed with efficient power generation and distribution to promote clean energy for today’s state-of-the-art buildings.  When appropriate, TLC engineers help harness the power of the sun through PV panels, reducing your overall utility expenses.

 Plumbing & Fire Protection

When Safety Counts, TLC Delivers

TLC is proficient in the design of potable, gray, storm and waste water systems. Our piping and plumbing designs promote waterconservation while assuring each system includes safe waste transfer and venting.

We incorporate many environmentally friendly, water-saving techniques including low-flow or no-flow fixtures, rainwater harvesting and collection and condensate water collection. Additionally, TLC engineers design solar water heating systems that harness the energy of the sun to heat water while saving on utility costs. These cost-effective, user-friendly green systems may be incorporated into most projects.

Waste removal systems are integral for the safety and health of your building and its occupants. As sustainable buildings feature more low-flow fixtures, the design of waste systems has become even more critical to assure adequate sizing of piping and, in some case cases, the correct collection of gray water for water conservation. Typical removal systems include sanitary wastes, acid wastes, and oil and petroleum wastes.

Fire Protection

At TLC, protecting your building and valuables from fire damage is a priority. We design fire protection systems to exact specifications that provide full coverage while minimizing property damage if called into use.  The days of the basic fire extinguisher are gone. Today, TLC’s fire protection systems, including chemical (FM-200), deluge, foam and wet/dry pipe technologies, are designed to meet the unique needs of your project and client.

Plumbing for Healthcare

Navigating the complex codes and regulations that govern healthcare facilities can be challenging. As a leader in healthcare design, TLC takes great pride in designing projects that exceed the expectations of our clients. Our engineers work in partnership with industry auditors so that your facility meets the legal requirements of your local and state governments. Producing a safe environment for our clients’ patients is our top priority.
