Teamed with client architects or working as prime consultants, TLC’s Dallas office has provided engineering services to Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) since 1995. Our work has ranged from a new NICU smoke evacuation system to multi-million dollar expansions. One such project is the Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Center at BUMC in Dallas, one of the nation’s few freestanding heart hospitals. Located on the university hospital campus, the five-story building spans across a street and connects to the main medical center. The heart center provides both inpatient and outpatient services, with a focus on preventive health care and comprehensive cardiovascular disease management. State-of-the-art cardiac equipment serves the catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories, surgical suites, an imaging department with 64-slice CT scanner, and cardiac rehabilitation areas. In addition to the Heart and Vascular Center, TLC has provided design services for numerous projects at the Baylor Research Institute at BUMC in Dallas; the $22 million, four-story patient tower at Baylor Medical Center in Garland; and the $50 million, six-story patient tower at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevin..
