The expansion at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital doubled the size of the hospital and provides space to serve Southwest Orlando’s rapidly growing population. The project includes a new five-story, 96-bed patient tower and renovations to the existing hospital including a new main entry and new reception area. Connected to the hospital via elevated walkway is a five-story, 860-space parking garage. The patient tower houses 48 private progressive care unit beds on one floor, 48 intensive care unit beds on another floor, and has a shelled-in floor earmarked for future additional beds. Space within the tower is allocated for surgery, catheterization labs, prep/recovery/PACU, lab, pharmacy, administration and public areas. Renovated portions of the existing hospital now house nuclear medicine, PAT/registration, imaging, non-invasive cardiology, neuro-diagnostics, food service and administrative spaces. Serving the hospital is the new central energy plant designed to meet current needs while providing space for future expansion.
