Florida Hospital-East Orlando’s new patient tower provides an additional 80 beds, including 40 intensive care beds and 40 private patient rooms. Built adjacent to the hospital, the tower will have three floors and two additional floors of shelled-in space. The structure is designed to accommodate a total of 10 floors. Serving the new spaces is an additional 800-ton chiller and additional 900-KW generator. Close coordination was required in the central plant design because the chiller and generator buildings are located a good distance from the hospital. TLC also provided voice and data, audio/visual and security system design.
