Teamed
with HKS Inc. of Dallas, TLC provided design services
for the original guest tower, the Chateau, the existing
Versailles guest tower, the nightclub, ballroom and meeting
rooms, new convention center and new two-story, 400-sf
spa at the famed Fontainebleau. We also provided design
services for the employee dining room, a three-meal restaurant,
a quick-serve restaurant, an Italian restaurant, and a
Chinese restaurant. The design team had a singular goal:
to restore the vision of the original architect, Morris
Lapidus, by bringing back signature features while creating
all-new interiors. Familiar touches remain in the restored
lobby, which has a redesigned front desk and a new lobby
bar accented with under-floor LED lighting. The renovated
guest towers have 825 guest rooms and 76 suites. Overlooking
the Atlantic is the convention center, whose adaptable
design allows for 58 meeting rooms, pre-function areas,
outdoor functions, four boardrooms, and three ballrooms.
Flexibility, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness
were the main engineering goals.
