Graduate
Engineers
and Interns
receive mentoring from experienced engineering
leaders. From your first week in new hire
orientation training to the ongoing relationship
built with your mentor, TLC is fostering your
success as a Consulting Engineer.
Depending
on your discipline, you will partner with architects
to design the systems that make a building run.

Electrical
Engineers
design lighting, power, and communication
systems by performing electrical load calculations,
panel board, transformer, and branch circuit
sizing, and performing computer breaker
and short circuit analysis.

Mechanical
Engineers design HVAC, plumbing, and
fire protection systems by performing HVAC
load calculations, sizing equipment, ductwork,
piping, and performing computer economic
analysis of alternate HVAC systems.

Structural
Engineers design steel trusses, foundation
systems, short-span and pedestrian bridges,
tilt-wall and pre-cast wall systems, conventional
and composite steel framing, and reinforced,
post-tensioned and aerated autoclave concrete.

Systems
Engineers design security, voice/video/data
distribution, and audio/video presentation
systems for buildings. These systems include
biometrics, smart cards, access control,
intrusion detection, CCTV systems and controls,
remote monitoring, fiber optics, LAN, plasma
screens, rear screen projection, interactive
kiosks, and video conferencing.
Graduate
Engineer (Mechanical
& Electrical)
You will work with the Project Engineer in the
planning, design, and production of the engineering
components of building projects. You will learn
the overall picture of what consulting engineers
do by performing tasks in each phase of production.
Graduates learn:

Engineering
by designing, drafting, sizing equipment,
performing load calculations and computer
analysis of systems
-
Construction
administration by processing drawings, RFI's,
and some limited exposure to field experience
during the construction phase
Qualified
applicants will have an engineering degree from
an accredited college or university, excellent
interpersonal and communication skills, and
experience or training using AutoCad. Preferred
applicants have completed a degree program with
an emphasis in building systems or architectural
engineering, have achieved EI registration,
and have experience drafting building systems
using AutoCad. Successful applicants will have
the desire and ability to pursue a career as
a consulting engineer and to advance in position
and responsibility.

Internships
Qualified applicants are pursuing an engineering
degree from an accredited college or university,
have excellent interpersonal and communication
skills, and have completed training for AutoCad.
Preferred applicants are pursuing a degree program
with an emphasis in building systems or architectural
engineering, and have experience using AutoCad.
Successful applicants will have the desire and
ability to pursue a career as a consulting engineer
upon graduation.
