As LEED®
Administrators, we do the legwork,
paperwork, and the followup.
Our professionals manage the
complex process, submit all
of the required documentation
at LEED-Online, and keep track
of certification goals throughout
design and construction. This
entails reviewing documents
and LEED submittals, providing
discipline-specific assistance,
and keeping crucial information
flowing among team members.

In
keeping with our commitment to sustainable
design, TLC Engineering for Architecture
encourages our professionals in every discipline
and every TLC office to pursue Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®)
certification by the U.S. Green Building
Council. To this end, TLC is now a Florida
Board of Professional Engineers-authorized
"Area of Practice" continuing
education provider.*
We
have 75 LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED
AP's) in 10 offices throughout Florida,
Tennessee, and Texas as well as a certified
geothermal designer and 14 ACG-Certified
Commissioning Authorities representing the
mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural
disciplines -- more than 20% of our professional
and technical staff. Our Sustainable Design
Team provides sustainable consulting, design,
and/or commissioning services for projects
throughout the U.S.
TLC
employees who are interested in learning
and development opportunities in LEED can
sign up for LEED classes offered through
TLC University. These instructor-led programs,
including a fully accredited FPBE continuing
education LEED Exam Workshop (offering 4
PDHs, half of what Florida PE's need
for their biennial renewal) are presented
by Director of Sustainable Design Kim Shinn,
PE, LEED AP, CxA, CPSM; Manager of Sustainable
Design Vince Briones, PE, LEED AP; Deerfield
Beach Division Director Brian Lomel, PE,
LEED AP, CxA; Jacksonville Division Director
Mark Gelfo, PE, LEED AP, CxA; and Cocoa
Division Director Gary Krueger, PE, LEED
AP.
