With
18 courtrooms, judicial and administrative offices and
ample support areas, the new Manatee County Judicial Center
is designed to serve the county court needs for the next
20 years. Located downtown between the county jail and
sheriffs buildings, the nine-story building will
have a secure sallyport and secure holding cells. The
new rooftop chilled water plant will consist of two energy-efficient
1,000-ton dual-compressor chillers with a primary/secondary
piping arrangement. Once the plant comes on line, the
chillers currently serving the jail and sheriffs
building will be removed. Phasing is critical because
the project requires demolition of a parking garage and
relocation of the utilities and communications systems
to make way for the new courthouse. TLC also designed
the security, telecommunications and structured cabling
systems.
