heat recovery systems for the make-up air systems serving
the labs, sterile processing, kitchen and operating suites;
CO2 monitoring; sensor-operated faucets; use of environmentally
friendly refrigerants, adhesives, and sealants; and occupancy
sensors and daylighting controls for lighting.The mechanical
and electrical equipment employs variable frequency drives
(VFDs) to accommodate fluctuating demand and provide optimum
