Topped by a Teflon membrane fabric roof designed to look like huge sails, the new terminal boasts a wall of glass overlooking the channel and a festive, nautical air. The glass-enclosed passenger bridge spans the length of the terminal and allows boarding from three movable gangways. Serving the terminals is a new central plant with thermal ice storage. Winner of the FICE Grand Award for Structural Design and the AIA Florida Merit Award of Excellence.
