The
new $1 billion, 3 million-sf Orlando International Airport
South Terminal will be the gateway to Florida for 40 million
passengers a year. With its open, airy feel and lush landscaping,
the terminal will provide a warm welcome to visitors and
complement the architecture of the North Terminal. One
of the first facilities in North America to be designed
with the Airbus A380 in mind, the South Terminal will
open with four gates that are fully A380-compatible. One
of the primary design goals was to make the terminal convenient
for international travelers. The 24-gate terminal complex
features a five-level landside building, three-level all-international
airside, a 3800-space parking garage for public and rental
cars, customs and border patrol facilities, a train connector
to North Terminal, a central energy plant, and central
preconditioned air plant and units. |
