Presbyterian Hospital of Denton is a full-service, acute-care hospital serving the growing communities in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Constructed at a cost of $54 million, the five-level hospital has 142 private rooms and a 20-bed intensive and critical care unit. The 28-bed Emergency Department provides dedicated areas for heart, obstetrics and gynecology, trauma, special procedures, general examination and observation. There are nine operating rooms – two dedicated to neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery and two dedicated to heart surgery. The hospital also has two cardiac catheterization labs, four procedure rooms and one ultra sound room, two endoscopy suites, 11 labor-delivery-recovery suites, education and community meeting space enable the hospital to provide comprehensive medical services. Advanced cardiac diagnostic tools, such as a magnetic resonance imager (MRI), a 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner put the hospital on the forefront of cardiac diagnostic imaging. Fifth floor shell space provides room for 55 future beds. The HVAC systems are designed to meet the hospital’s stringent requirements for clean air, space pressurization, and precise control of temperature and humidity. High efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters serve operating rooms, laboratories and other areas that demand a sterile environment for infection control. The building automation system helps maintain ideal environmental conditions inside the hospital while maximizing energy efficiency and building performance. The new hospital is connected by a skybridge to the renovated Denton Community Hospital, now called the Women’s Building. TLC also provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services for the Denton Community Hospital renovation.
