The $40 million project included adding two stories to two existing buildings and constructing a new six-story tower infill. The new tower is a private, key-activated Club Lounge featuring 55 guest rooms, 16 executive suites, four presidential suites and two villas. The scope included renovation of three restaurants and the employee dining room; laundry upgrade, renovation of back-of-house offices, expansion of the spa and the addition of a children’s play area. TLC structural and MEP engineers coordinated closely with the rest of the team to meet the aggressive design and construction schedule and the challenges of the remote island location. To expedite the schedule, the steel package was released early and TLC participated with shop drawing reviews at the fabricator’s shop.
