TLC
Engineering for Architecture has been providing MEP
mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection
engineering services for Samford University since 2005,
serving as both prime consultant and teamed with architect
and contractor clients. Some of our larger projects
include:
The new energy efficient HVAC system serving Robinson
Hall, home of the universitys Cumberland School
of Law. Robinson Hall also houses the offices of the
former Alabama governor and several former federal judges.
The project was completed in August 2005 at a construction
cost of $3 million.
Beeson University Center 4th floor renovations. The
project improved existing facilities and provided space
to accommodate a new bookstore, private meeting and
dining facilities, and common areas.
Site package for the Pete Hanna Arena, the universitys
$32 million sports-fitness and special events center.
The centerpiece will be a 5,000-seat basketball and
volleyball arena, which includes 3,000 chair-back seats
and 2,000 bleacher seats. In addition, the 132,000-sf
facility will house an athletics center with fitness
and weight rooms, sports medicine and training areas,
locker rooms and meeting rooms for teams, a student-athlete
academic center, offices for coaches and administrators,
and a chapel. A key component will be the 12,000-sf
student fitness/wellness center.
$3 million in campus-wide improvements to the HVAC system
including new controls for HVAC and lighting retrofit.
Other TLC projects include renovations to the stadium
press box, Reid Chapel, Davis Library, the Buchanan
and Pittman Vail dormitories, and the Dr. Westmoreland
residence.
