Sustainable Building Design
TLC‘s approach to sustainable building design is best achieved by being an integrated member of your project team. By embracing sustainability early in design, opportunities for success are enhanced, while minimizing cost impacts. Our engineers use extensive energy modeling to develop and evaluate creative strategies meeting project goals in pursuit of LEED or other green building certification. In May 2009 TLC formalized our commitment to sustainable design by accepting the 2030 Challenge, one of the first MEP firms nationwide to do so. We are living our commitment daily, resulting in ongoing changes and improvements to our work processes, business practices and education and training.
Our LEED portfolio began with Florida’s first LEED-certified project in 2003 and today consists of projects around the world, including numerous LEED firsts:
- Florida’s first LEED-certified building, healthcare facility, preschool, elementary school, resort, athletic facility, commercial interiors, public school and platinum buildings!
- Dallas’ first LEED-Certified police station
- America’s first LEED-Certified Platinum athletic facility
- The world’s first LEED-Certified tire manufacturing plant
