The
new 19-story guest tower increased the resort's capacity
to 2,000 rooms and added 40,000 sf of conference and convention
space. The project included expanded restaurant and pool
facilities, a new and larger health club, and a four-level,
1,800-space parking deck.Located on the northwest side
of the existing hotel, the 513-room tower connects to
the hotel at levels 1-5. Back-of-house support and operations
are housed on Level 1 while the 15,000-sf executive conference
space is on levels 2 and 3. Beautifully appointed king
and double-double guest rooms are located on the upper
floors, situated in a stair-step floor plate similar to
the existing hotel. The conference center was designed
to provide maximum flexibility. There are five 950-sf
meeting rooms; three 1,250-sf meeting rooms; one 6,500-sf
space that can be divided into four boardrooms and two
meeting rooms; common pre-function space. Supporting the
conference rooms are a 5,000-sf common dining area located
outside of Allies American Grille and a pantry.
In addition to the new construction, the project included
upgrades to several facilities including restaurants.
JW's Steakhouse, already a dining favorite with its golf
course views, was renovated and expanded to accommodate
100 diners and a bar that seats up to 20 people. The second-floor
kitchen was expanded and the first floor golf support
area was remodeled. The new 7,500-sf health club includes
equipment area and lockers with dedicated sauna, steam
and jacuzzi room, and a pro shop. The existing health
club exercise area was converted to a children's arcade
and playroom. The second swimming pool west of the five-story
guest wing was designated as a lap pool. Rounding out
the project was a pool bar with light food service. |
